Border Information

UZBEKISTAN — TURKMENISTAN

UZBEKISTAN  SIDE of the border

The transport should be left before the border gates.  The tourists pass the passport control (please, note that the registration at the hotel is checking very strictly), then customs point where the baggage is checking. The guide from Uzbek side is accompanying the tourists will neutral zone and helps with all formalities.

For tourists the “green corridor” exists on the border. That means that the tourists can enter the border  point not staying in line with all people.

TURKMENISTAN SIDE of the border

Going through formalities on the border check point Alat-Farap (entrance/exit from/to Bukhara)

Going through formalities the travelers requested to be on the Uzbek side of the border no late than 09:00 am to manage to go through formalities on Turkmen side before 12:00 noon.

After finishing the formalities on Turkmen-Uzbek side the travelers have to immediately walk to 800 m (neutral zone). There is no any shuttle bus or trays available on this part of border. The guide is normally waiting for the travelers on Turkmen site (it is very important to know that Turkmen guides are not allowed to enter the Uzbek side of the Uzbek border).

All the necessary papers including travel passes, LOI original, declarations are provided by the guide on the border to meet the travelers and guide render assistance in going through the border formalities.

1)      Border formalities

To enter to Turkmenistan travelers should have a valid entry visa. They can obtain visa in the embassy of Turkmenistan in home country or on the border upon arrival on the basis of the letter of invitation which is arranged by a tourist company.

2)      Migration cards

Travelers pay migration tax 10 usd+2 usd bank commission=12 usd per person when going through the border formalities.

3)      Consular fees and migration tax

Consular fees and migration tax are paid by the travelers directly to the branch of   the bank on the border.

4)      Passport control

After visa and migration cards have been issued the travelers go through the passport control.

5)      Customs

The travelers may be requested to open the accompanied luggage for examination.

After the border formalities are completed the travelers will go with the guide another 200 m to the car\bus parking (as the vehicle are not aloud to stay too close to the border gates).

Please, kindly note that at border check point Shavat – Dashoguz (entrance/exit from/to Urgench) there is a shuttle bus and the distance of neutral zone is not very long.

 

UZBEKISTAN – KYRGYZSTAN

UZBEKISTAN SIDE of the border

The car should be left before the border gate. The tourists should go by foot about 50m till the building of passport control point and then to customs point. The guide accompanies the tourists till the neutral zone.

Please, kindly note that sometimes there is big line of people waiting their turn to enter Kyrgyzstan. The tourists should stay in line with other people.

KYRGYSTAN SIDE of the border

The distance between Uzbek and Kirguiz check point is 500 m (neutral zone). Tourists will have to walk this distance by foot.

On Kyrgyz side our guide will meet the group. Our guide will accompany the tourist on first check point on Kyrgyz side with passport control.

After that another 100 m will be another main check point inside the building. They will have to wait for a while if on that day there are a lot of people to cross the border.

When our guide put all the stamps in each passport in that building they will have to walk around 200-300 m till the bus parking. Till nowadays tourists did not have to fill in custom declarations, customs have been very loyal to tourists.

All this way, tourists do not have to carry their entire luggage by themselves. It is possible to hire the porterages paying extra money.

 

UZBEKISTAN — TADJIKISTAN

UZBEKISTAN SIDE of the border

The transport should be left before the border gate. Then the tourists go by foot about 30 m till the building of the border.

The tourists pass the passport control point then the customs point. Please, kindly note that sometimes the accompany guide is not allowed to accompany the tourists till the neutral zone so the tourists will pass all formalities themselves.

Sometimes from Uzbek side of the border there is big line of people entering Tadjikistan and the tourists have to wait in line.

TADJIKISTAN SIDE of the border

At the border check-point “Djarteppo” the tourists leave the car and go directly to the customs point and then to frontier point.

10 m after these points the neutral zone starts (there the clients will be welcomed by Tadjik accompany guide and translator). The tourists have to go by foot 20m till the border point “Sarazm” where the tourists pass the passport registration.

Then go by foot about 10 m till the customs point “Sarazm” where the tourists fill the declaration and again pass through passport registration. Then 10 m till the transport.
